About us
BECA is a civic organisation that was established to represent the interests of the ratepayers and residents of the BECA neighbourhood, an area predominantly encompassing Lower Claremont in Cape Town, a suburb to the east of Belvedere Road. The organisation is run by an elected committee who meet monthly and volunteer their time to help improve (y)our BECA area – new committee members are encouraged to join.
BECA’s perimeter comprises Belvedere Road to the west, the M5 to the east, Chichester Road to the south, and Milner & Kromboom Roads to the north.
Alongside other civic associations in Claremont, Rondebosch and Kenilworth, BECA forms part of the City of Cape Town’s Ward 58 that is currently represented by Councillor Kate Christie. The more paying members BECA has, the more weight BECA carries to call on our Ward Councillor to give (y)our area and (y)our grievances more attention.
